Privacy Policy — Board Games

Board Games ("the app") is developed by CountMe Labs. This policy explains what data the app does — and does not — collect.

Summary

Board Games does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It has no analytics, no ads, no user accounts, and no internet connection of any kind. All games are played either on a single device (pass-and-play) or directly between two nearby phones over Bluetooth / Wi-Fi, with no server in between.

Permissions the app requests, and why

To let two phones find and connect to each other for local multiplayer, Android requires the app to request the following permissions. They are used solely for that purpose:

Bluetooth (Scan, Advertise, Connect) — to discover and connect to a nearby phone running the app.
Nearby Wi-Fi Devices — to use Wi-Fi as an alternative connection method when available, for a faster/more reliable link.
Location (on Android versions before 12) — required by older versions of Android to perform Bluetooth or Wi-Fi device discovery. The app does not read, use, or store GPS location or any location data — this permission exists only because older Android versions bundled it with device discovery.

None of this information leaves your phone. There is no server, no account, and no way for the developer to see who is playing, where, or with whom.

Data collected

None. The app does not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or any third-party service that transmits data off the device.

Payment

Board Games is a paid app. Your purchase is processed entirely by Google Play — the developer never receives or has access to your payment card details, billing address, or any other payment information. Google's own privacy policy covers that transaction.

Data shared with the opponent's phone during a game

When two phones play together, they exchange only what's needed to play: game moves, the selected game, and a random seed used to keep dice/shuffles in sync. This exchange happens directly between the two devices and is never sent anywhere else.

Children's privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes (for example, if a future update adds online play through a server), this page will be updated and the effective date above will change.
